Conference on the Brazilian-Hungarian Academic and Scientific Cooperation

On 15 and 20 January, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference (HRC) organized two conferences on the Brazilian-Hungarian Academic and Scientific Cooperation for Brazilian students participating in the Science without Borders scholarship program in Hungary.

Altogether more than 500 students attended the events which have been held at the Budapest Business School.

In the morning, students have participated in plenary sessions opened by Dr. Zoltán Dubéczi, Secretary General of the HRC, keynote speeches were given by Dr. József Bódis, president of the HRC and rector of the University of Pécs, Dr. István Rákóczi, head of faculty of the Portuguese studies at the Eötvös Loránd University, Dr. Tamás Szemlér, dean at the Budapest Business School, and Sarolta Kóbori, professor of the University of Pécs and University of Sao Paolo.

In the afternoon, participants attended roundtable discussions in ten different scientific sections under the guidance of section leaders invited from higher education institutions participating in the SWB program. The students introduced their projects and researches related to their academic studies and discussed their SWB experience.

At the end of the conferences, students received a certificate of participation and presentation.

The idea of organizing such conferences is a unique initiative among the countries participating in the Science without Borders program, and the major aim was to close the SWB academic activities with a high-quality scientific event, which can bring together scholarship holders from different disciplines and institutions.
