I. Hungarian-Moroccan University Forum was held with intensive professional discussions on 26. November, 2019
Driss Ouaouicha, Moroccan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, visited Hungary along with a rectors’ delegation of fifteen in the framework of the intensified higher educational cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and Hungary. The Hungarian Rectors’ Conference (HRC) organized the I. Hungarian-Moroccan University Forum with the participation of almost 100 people related to this visit, at Andrássy University Budapest, Mirror room.
After the host university rector’s welcome words Dr. József Bódis, Minister of State responsible for Higher Education, Innovation and Vocational Education, greeted the participants, which was followed by the comprehensive keynote speech of S.E.M. Driss Ouaouicha, Moroccan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, backed up with international comparisons. The presentation generated a lively professional dialogue between the Minister and the attending Moroccan students who study in Hungary. The Moroccan higher education system was further introduced by Yahia Boughaleb, President of the University of Chouaib Doukkali d’El Jadida and Mostapha Bousmina, President of the Université Euro-Mediterranéenne de Fès, presenting current challenges, the vision of higher education and related measures. János Józsa, President of HRC, complemented the above-mentioned themes with relevant elements of the internationalization of the Hungarian higher education. The small group parallel discussions following the presentations provided platform to establish collaboration between Moroccan and Hungarian universities directly and to clarify questions arose in Moroccan and Hungarian student participants.
According to the feedback of Moroccan delegation members, Hungarian institutional representatives and students, the I. Hungarian-Moroccan University Forum has successfully contributed to the development of Moroccan-Hungarian university relations.
