The Second Hungary-Latin America Forum was held in Budapest on the 15th of October 2015
The forum which focused on the cooperation between Latin- America and Hungary included a Higher education- Science and Innovation panel, co- organized by the Ministry of Human Capacities and the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference.
The opening speeches of the conference were delivered by Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, Minister of State for Higher Education – Ministry of Human Capacities, Prof. Dr. József Pálinkás, president – National Research, Development and Innovation Office, NRDIO, Prof. Dr. József Bódis, president – Hungarian Rector’s Conference and Prof. Dr. András Patyi, rector – National University of Public Service.
Presentations were given by local experts and prestigious guest speakers from Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica and Brazil. The Science Without Borders Program, being one of the most successful projects between Latin America and Hungary was introduced through a keynote presentation by Dr. Zoltán Dubeczi, secretary general of HRC, Prof. Dr. János Józsa, rector of Budapest University of Technology an Economics (BME) and two Science Without Borders scholarship holders, Mr. Jose Siqueira Campos Filho (UTFPR- BME) and Ms. Deborah Kolstok Monteiro (UniCAMP- BME).
The forum was concluded by a reception hosted by Mr. László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly at the House of Parliament, offering the speakers and guest of the conference a very illustrious venue to continue the professional discussions and meet with the representatives of the host and the other countries.
