Visit of the Indonesian higher education institutions’ delegation
Nearly 40 delegates of APTISI – Association of Indonesian Private Higher Education Institutions – visited Hungary between 14-17 May 2017.
As leader of the delegation, Dr. Budi Jatmiko, Chairman of APTISI and George Iwan Marantika, Vice-President of APTISI and Hungarian Honorary Consul of Yogyakarta and mid-Java, and representatives of 21 universities and colleges arrived to Hungary. From the Hungarian side, the delegation was welcomed by rectors and international leaders of universities in the framework of bilateral meetings and institutional visits.
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Budapest organized a Higher Education Gathering and Dinner to facilitate the working visit of APTISI to Hungary, where rectors and leaders of universities took part. Rector of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Prof. János Józsa; Rector of the Eszterházy Károly University, Dr. Kálmán Liptai Phd; Vice Rector of the Eötvös Loránd University, Dr. Gábor Erdődy; Secretary General of the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference, Dr. Zoltán Dubéczi; and Director of International Affairs of the Budapest Business School, Dr Tamás Novák PhD were among the honorary guests.
In the event, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference and the Eszterházy Károly University signed an agreement with APTISI to enhance cooperation in the field of higher education.
Also, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference and the Budapest Business School organized a Hungary-Indonesia Forum, titled Go Hungary–Go Indonesia: The Role of Higher Education, which was held on 16 May 2017 at the Budapest Business School. At the event, welcome remarks were given by Dr. András Jancsik, Vice-Rector of the Budapest Business School, H.E. Wening Esthyprobo Fatandari, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Hungary, George Iwan Marantika, Vice-President of APTISI, Dr. Budi Jatmiko, Chairman of APTISI and Dr. Zoltán Dubéczi.
H.E. Wening Esthyprobo Fatandari, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Hungary was awarded with a Certificate of Merit by the Vice-Rector of Budapest Business School, the Director of International Affairs of Budapest Business School has introduced the Go Hungary – Go Indonesia book containing studies of Hungarian and Indonesian authors, while Prof. Dr. László Komlósi, Vice Rector of the Széchenyi István University and Ms Zsuzsanna Kovács, Program Officer of the Tempus Public Foundation delivered speeches.
