International Conference held by HRC and ETOKI

 

An international conference was organized by Hungarian Rectors’ Conference, togerher with European Science, Education and Research Institute (ETOKI), Pallas Athene Innovation and Geopolitical Foundation and Eötvös Loránd University on 6th July in Budapest with the title „Brazilian-Hungarian relations in the internationalization of higher education – Motivation and factors of decision in selecting a foreign university”.


The participants of the conference were Hungarian, Brazilian and Spanish rectors or university senior executives. The Brazilian participants vistied Hungary as members of ABRUEM (Brazilian Association of Rectors of State and Municipal Universities), the organization that has held 45 Brazilian higher education institutions together for over 30 years.

 

The conference has been opened by Dr. Péter Szalay, Vice-Rector for Education and Associate Professor of Eötvös Loránd University. His speech was followed by the presentation of Gábor Dobos, Head of „Study in Hungary” Unit at Tempus Public Foundation. The section was closed by the presentation of Dra. Mar Gutiérrez-Colón Plana, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation of Universitat Rovíra i Virgilli (Spain).

 

In the second session, a presentation was held by Dr. Eszter Lukács PhD, Vice-Rector of Széchenyi István University, José Celso Freire Júnior, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Universidade Estadual Paulista, Dr. Zoltán Dubéczi, Secretary General of Hungarian Rectors’ Conference and Dr. Barnabás Kovács, Consul General of Hungary to Barcelona and Research Leader of European Science, Education and Research Institute (ETOKI).

 

The main objective of the conference is to provide further opportunities for higher education cooperation in the participating countries, giving new impetus to the development of joint training and research programs, the exchange of lecturers, students and researchers and the development of various regional cooperation programs.
