Announcement of the Board of the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference

Presently there are 63 higher education institutions operating in Hungary: state maintained-, church maintained-, private institutions and the so-called model-changing universities maintained by public interest trusts. The right to participate in the education and mobility programs of the European Union, as well as in EU-level research collaborations, must be ensured for all Hungarian university citizens, regardless of the university’s maintainer, without discrimination.

The Board of the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference considers it unacceptable that any kind of political debate restricts the participation of Hungarian university students and scholars in the European Union’s education, mobility and research cooperation programs.

Participation in these programs must be equally available to all university students, professors and researchers from all European Union countries, without exception.
