The Hungarian Rectors’ Conference organized a V4 Rectors’ Conferences Forum

In the framework of Hungary’s V4 presidency, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference (HRC) organized a V4 conference with the support of the Ministry of Human Capacities in Budapest on May 17, 2018. The event provided an opportunity to deepen the cultural and educational ties between the Visegrad countries, to strengthen existing and to explore new cooperation opportunities between the Czech, the Polish, the Slovakian and the Hungarian institutions.

Over one hundred and twenty university leaders represented the V4 countries at the conference hosted by the Budapest Business School.

The event was opened by István Íjgyártó, State Secretary for Scientific and Cultural Diplomacy, a welcome speech was given by Prof. József Bódis, President of the HRC and Prof. Balázs Heidrich, Rector of the Budapest Business School. The conference continued with the introduction of the Distributed excellence concept through presentations and panel discussions: the region’s higher education experts presented the latest results of research, development and innovation through national and international examples and described the development opportunities for the V4 countries.

In the afternoon, parallel sessions are organized in four topics in four Hungarian higher education institutions: External and internal leadership and management of universities in V4 countries (Corvinus University of Budapest), Role, relevance and responsibilities of higher educational private institutions in V4 Countries (King Sigismund University) V4 business school cooperation opportunities in the 21st century (Budapest Business School), V4 art universities’ cooperation opportunities in the 21st century (Hungarian University of Fine Arts).
